Plot and Character Quiz
We have been studying plot and character for the past several weeks. We will review all we have learned Monday/ Tuesday, and we will have a quiz over plot and character Wednesday/Thursday of next week.
I will hold a tutoring session from 3:55- 4:45 Monday, October 13 for students who feel they need additional assistance on these concepts.
Nonfiction
Next Friday, we will begin to look at tools and tips for navigating nonfiction texts. We will begin by exploring our textbooks and then, we will look at biographies. I have asked students to bring a biography about the person they are researching for history fair to class October 20/21. They will have to visit a public library to find a book as the biographies in the POMS library are on hold for library use only. If students are having difficulty finding a book, they should see me and I will make arrangements with them depending on their circumstances. Please e-mail me at aparker1@houstonisd.org if you have any questions.
