We are planning a field trip for 6C to Rice University on Friday April 13th. We are in need of about 5 parent volunteers to help us chaperone. We will meet at school at 8:30 am, and return by 2:30 pm. As the timeline for this trip is so short, we need parents who have ALREADY been approved by HISD’s background check. Students! Please be prepared for a test on WWII and the Holocaust on April 4th and 5th. We will review a bit in class on April 2nd and 3rd, and I will go over the format of the test. Study!!

In World Cultures we are moving ahead with our unit on the Middle Ages in Europe. Some upcoming assignments: “My Medieval Life” which will be assigned on 1/10 and 1/11 is a one-page paper describing what your life would be like if you were a person in Medieval Europe. This will count as a quiz grade and is due on 1/16 and 1/17. Additionally, students should be prepared for a Middle Ages Quiz on 1/18 and 1/19. Always remember the Feudal Pyramid!!!
Any and all World Cultures Extra Credit for the 3rd 6 weeks is due Monday December 11 by 4:00 pm. No late work will be accepted, as students have had the entire 6 weeks to work on it or turn it in.
This week we are becoming familiar with the geography of Europe, before we begin Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome after the break. Please look for a Europe Map Activity Wednesday and Thursday. The students may have time to finish in class, but if they don’t, will need to complete it for homework.
Also, there will be no World Cultures homework over the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will be a test on Asia on Monday November 6 and Tuesday November 7. The review will be handed out on Friday November 3. Please study the review in detail, and complete the review assignment, which will be collected the day of the test.
